The 14th -22nd November was Chemistry Week and the Junior Science Club celebrated by participating in the Global Chemistry Experiment.  This event is organised by the Royal Society of Chemistry.

The experiments investigated the properties of hydrogels, polymers that absorb water, which are found in products as diverse as disposable nappies and contact lenses.  Several pupils were so intrigued with these materials that they are planning to investigate them further with the aim of achieving a Bronze Crest Award.
