Dear Parent/ Guardian,

As you are probably aware we have had to reschedule our Open Evening to Friday 15th December. This is due to the very serious health and safety concerns I had last Friday.

To allow the school to be properly prepared we unfortunately will need to close at 1215pm. There will be a reduced bus service at 1215 on this day with buses to Bangor, Millisle via Donaghadee, Saintfield via Comber and Portavogie via Kircubbin. I sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this causes. (Please note that the Preparatory Department is operating a normal school day)

Last Thursday saw enormous crowds visit Regent and the feedback has been very promising. Most of the compliments centre on our pupil guides and classroom helpers who did a great job of describing their school experience to our visitors. To help ensure our guests this Friday get the same experience can I please urge that your child volunteers again. I realise the difficulties this will create for you and am grateful for your support.

Please can I also ask that you tell as many people as possible about our rearranged Open Evening. Friday 15th December from 6pm to 9pm. My talks are at 6pm and 7.30pm. An updated advert will appear in local press this week.

Apologies for all the inconveniences caused by the rearranged event. It wasn’t an easy decision to postpone the evening but I do believe it was the right one to ensure everyone’s safety.

Many thanks
Michael Carville
