Frequently Asked Questions

  • The Headmaster does not usually authorise holidays during term time so an unauthorised holiday will be recorded on your child’s attendance record.

A letter of explanation must be sent to the Headmaster prior to the holiday.

  • Please call the school as soon as possible.

If lateness is due to a medical appointment, then a covering note or appointment card should be provided by the pupil when they sign the late book at reception.

  • If your child is unwell and cannot attend school you should contact the school office as soon as possible on the first day of absence.

When your child returns to school after a period of illness, please supply a note to the child's Form Tutor that explains the reason for the absence.

  • If your child becomes ill during the school day they will be sent to the School Matron who will assess the situation. If they think it is necessary, they will contact you.

  • If you are worried about your son or daughter, you should contact the Form Tutor in the first instance. You can do this by calling the school.

  • You will have received an information sheet which contains details of Form Tutors and other members of the Pastoral Team. Information can also be found on the Staff page of this website.

  • Contact us using the form below and we will put you in touch with the relevant class teacher.

  • Regent has a cashless catering system called ParentPay. You’ll find information about this here.

Funds can be topped up in two ways:

Pupils can pay by cash using the payment points around school.

Parents/Guardians can pay using our online payment partner, ParentPay. This is a secure method of payment. An activation letter is issued to Parents/Guardians of all new pupils.

  • Please do not try to contact them on their personal mobile.

Call the school and a member of staff will assist you to pass on the message.

  • If your child is sitting a public examination and they are absent, they may not be able to sit it at a later date. Therefore it is important they attend all their examinations.

If a child misses an internal school examination they should contact the subject teacher as soon as they return to school. The subject teacher will arrange a suitable time for the child to take the examination.

  • If your child has been given a detention, a letter will be sent by the Head of Year to inform you of the date and time of the detention and the reason for it.

For more information, see our Policies and Procedures page.

  • The school understands that mobile phones can provide an important communication link between parents and children.

Pupils are made aware that mobile phones are to be switched off during the school day and stored in their locker.

We would ask that parents cooperate with the school so that learning in the classroom continues smoothly. The school cannot cover any costs encountered by pupils through the loss of a phone in school.

Please see the full mobile phone policy on our Policies and Procedures page.

  • School Fund is a contribution to school finances made by parents to cover activities and resources which are not financed by the Department of Education.
