Regent House School is a co-educational, non-denominational controlled grammar school with a Preparatory Department for ages 4 to 11. The Secondary or Grammar School Department can cater for 1450 pupils between 11 to 19 years. Girls and boys in roughly equal numbers are admitted from a diverse range of backgrounds and schools throughout North Down and Belfast.
We are fortunate to have over 75 dedicated full-time teachers who deliver the curriculum from our modern facilities in Newtownards. We also employ skilled coaching staff, a fully qualified nurse and a part-time pupil counsellor.
The philosophy of our school is the belief that each pupil should be encouraged to fulfil their potential in a supportive and caring environment. In addition to the broad curriculum, pupils can participate in more than 20 sports and 16 other clubs and activities, some of which are unique in Northern Ireland. Two theatrical performances are staged each year and our students enter a variety of local and national arts and academic competitions, including F1 in schools.
