Lucy retains her title as Irish National Open Karate Champion

Lucy Ouldfield,  a pupil in year 11, competed in The Irish National Open Karate Championships held in Tallaght, Dublin last weekend.  The competition had over 400 competitors all taking part in both Kata and Kumite and the event was one of the biggest held in Ireland .

Lucy did both her Team Proud and of course Northern Ireland whose she was representing at these Championships.

Lucy retained her title from last year and is still currently the Irish National Open Champion.  She gave a fantastic performance and won her final fight by 6-2 lifting the Gold Medal once again.

This was Lucy's last competition of 2016!  She will now relax a while until after Christmas when training will start again in preparation for the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP SELECTIONS.  She hopes to be selected again for the 4th year running.

Good luck Lucy and enjoy the break.Lucy
